Oscar Wilde’s lipstick-covered Paris tomb to be protected
“A kiss may ruin a human life,” Oscar Wilde once wrote. It can also ruin the stonework of a tomb, judging by the extraordinary graffiti – kisses in lipstick left by admirers – that for years have been defacing and even eroding the massive memorial to the Irish dramatist and wit in Paris’s Père Lachaise cemetery.
Wilde died in the city in 1900, aged 46. His restored tomb will finally be unveiled this week, newly protected from his devotees.

Dean Corll
Earning the nickname of “The Candy Man” when his crimes were uncovered (due to him running his mother’s small candy company), Corll was responsible for what would become known as the “Houston Mass Murders” which took place in Houston, Texas between the years of 1970 and 1973. Along with two accomplices (Elmer Wayne Henley and David Brooks), Corll would abduct and torture young boys that were lured to his apartment, then murdering and burying them in the surrounding rural areas. Corll was shot and killed by Henley following a heated argument at Corll’s home.

Cool experience? Having a layover in Memphis on Aug 16th. Saw some things that included 1) Japanese couple singing Elvis on hotel piano 2) Woman with bedazzled Elvis shirt and 3) Ribs!
