i have some great space stamps from my trip to russia. i should do something nice with them.
3aпуск втopoгo космическoгo коpaбля. 19.VIII.1961.
Launch of the second spaceship. August 19. 1961. Soviet matchbox label, 1962.
(editor’s note: the date is inaccurate, the second soviet manned spaceflight, Vostok-2 was launched on the 6th of August 1961.)
two things: 1) Does anyone else feel bad for Michael Collins? 2) I just told someone they should visit Johnson Space Center and see the original mission control. Um I don’t know if you can even still see it.
How many engineers does it take?
An ocean of engineers are present in this July 16, 1969, photograph of the mission control center in Houston, Texas, which was preparing for the launch of the Apollo 11 space mission. Four days later, U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin became the first men to walk on the moon.Photograph of Engineers Working in the Launch Control Center Preparing for the Launch of Apollo 11, 07/16/1969
